My favorite album by Nick Drake, bar none. For 40 minutes I'm in awe by its lush orchestrations, which I think fit his voice much better than the stripped-bare nature of Pink Moon. Bryter Layter finds itself sounding quite similar to Five Leaves Left, but it is noticeably the more consistent of the two. And consistently beautiful it is. This is about as good as Chamber Folk can get, a warm and inviting record that welcomes you in with open arms.
