Bops from 2023

The slaps from the year 2023.. WILL BE FULLY RANKED EVENTUALLY.

grouptherapy. - FUNKFEST
100
When I first listened to FUNKFEST I was literally amazed by how wild the song felt with the guitar riff loops, the hook from jadagrace with them all going "you can hate me if that is what your little heart desires" and "do it, go!" in my ears. this got me to check out their earlier works and I fell in love with their music. thank you to these guys for dropping banger after banger
grouptherapy. - Nasty
97
SWIM's energy on the hook is invigorating. TJ's verse goes hard with his funny one-liners, Jada's verse and vocal work on that verse are pretty good. The beat also goes hard and this is another great song from the trio.
grouptherapy. - Peak
97
I THINK.. this might be my favorite song from the album, super fun jersey club song with some great verses behind it. Jadagrace's vocals are also great.
Miley Cyrus - Flowers
Miley's best song (to me), the instrumental is a bit bare bone but it leaves room for her vocals to just absolutely carry the song.
Redveil & JPEGMAFIA - black enuff
93
Goes absolutely bonkers, redveil goes off, Peggy goes hard. This production has me head banging in the car while not giving a fuck about the road ahead. This song is great.
JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - Lean Beef Patty
90
Thanks Peggy and Danny for inventing hyper pop.
89
This might be Doja's best song, the rapping is solid, the hypnotic vocals during the hook, the simple beat that lets Doja's lyrics be the main attraction.
Beyoncé & Kendrick Lamar - AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM
90
Twerking to a song with Kendrick Lamar listed as an artist on the track.
Lil Uzi Vert - The End
The most fun I've had listening to Uzi because this doesn't sound like their type of song. They go so far out of their comfort zone with making a J-Metal track banger and holy moly is this joint a banger.
Kali Uchis - Moonlight
Kali makes me feel pretty.
Tory Lanez & Trippie Redd - Hurts Me
90
Tory's vocals are infectious on here. His lyrics kind of hit my emotional core a bit too hard. The retro synth-pop vibe works so well with the vocals from both Tory and Trippie.
Billie Eilish - What Was I Made For?
Billie casually dropping the best song from the whole entire Barbie soundtrack.
beabadoobee - glue song
The vocals are so sweet on here and the lyrics are sweet as well, this is a sweet love song.
Tyler, The Creator - SORRY NOT SORRY
98
One of Tyler's best songs along with See You Again and Are We Still Friends?
Baby Keem & Kendrick Lamar - The Hillbillies
Such a fun bop from my favorite Hillbillies.
Troye Sivan - Rush
98
This is the first song I've heard from Troye Sivan in 7 years.. and holy it bangs. The upbeat house sound, the addicting sound it has, and Troye's vocals are freaking angelic. This is the epitome of what a summer house song should be.
NewJeans - OMG
OH MY OH MY GOD. I'M JUST HOPING THAT YOU WILL COME THROUGHHHH
Jessie Ware - Pearls
Jessie Ware's vocals are fucking insane man, so angelic and oddly reminds me of the MVC2 soundtrack, both are jazzy and funky and just danceable.
Tyler, The Creator - DOGTOOTH
This and Ice Spice turning me into a munch.
IV Of Spades - Come Inside Of My Heart
Catchy and just overall a great song.
Laufey - From The Start
100
LAUFEY SUPREMACY.
Olivia Rodrigo - vampire
80
Ignore my score on it, it's gonna get changed anyway this song grew on me a little bit.
Kash Krabs - KRUSTY KREW ANTHEM (BACK ON THE GRILL)
Best piece of novelty rap, its clever, the AI used (presumably) sounds natural, Squidward's verse goes hard, Mr. Krabs goes hard, this is genuinely a great song.
Quavo - WITHOUT YOU
Super heartfelt sendoff from Quavo to the late Takeoff. He sounds sincere on here and it's a sweet tribute to his nephew.
