Yeah. This is a breakup album and you can't tell me otherwise. Opening with Cruel World is insane. "Share my body and my mind with you, that's all over now". My interpretation is that this is the way every woman feels after a breakup, because it's certainly how I feel.

It's so spooooky. I love it. I envision a woman who gets sent away for being crazy and comes back, everyone thinks she's healed. But she's still having spooky visions and she's slowly losing her mind. She also poisons her husband for sure. The girls that get it get it.

Don't ever come at me and say this is not SZA's best piece of work -- because it is. From the melodic pop masterpiece that is Julia, to the fantastical adventure that Shattered Ring takes you on, "Z" is criminally underrated. SZA's beautiful voice paired with her introspective lyricism creates a unique r&b vibe. Each song feels different from the last, but there's a cohesive flow to the EP.
