normalize listening to albums purely because you’re attracted to the cover
she da real personal protocol
so this is what j. cole sounds like to you all? I’m sleepy as fuck after this one
an hour of just 120bpm overproduced nothingness, a few songs like around my way are decent or good, but aside from that it’s just painfully apathetic, also bitch bad is genuinely one of the worst songs ever made he wanted OUT of that label bro 😭😭😭 releasing it as a single is insanity
when they’re slandering your goat but they’re lowkirkenuinely right
Lazer dim was the best part aside from Denzel himself Im so serious
album was terrible gaysers by loopy fantastic
as much as its terrible, songs like letting go, words I never said, an all black everything at least give it some merit (the show goes on sucks fuck that one)
I will say, Beautiful Lasers (2 Ways) is one of the most interesting, profound songs I think I’ve ever heard and is the main thing it got from the album. Not to say it’s good, far from it. But the fact a song exists where the artist is expressing his deep pain and suicidal ... read more
my friend put me on to this song a bit ago on a shared playlist we made, now while I usually don’t listen to anything she says because she’s Egyptian and a lesbian, I had to give it a try due to my affinity for chamber pop and goddamn this shit slaps
the sudden shift into the aggressive drums and more pronounced instrumentation is something that always gets me in a song and this is no different, so so amazing and can’t wait to see what this group does in the future
The first non-instrumental song is an 80s synthpop song that switched into a 6/4 time signature Black Thought verse halfway through obviously it’s their most acclaimed album in 16 years
resurrect him to play the super bowl and the immigrant problem will be solved forever
she’s wearing clothes this time but I still want her so it’s a 100
While I normally hold most of Lupe’s albums to the echelon of like 95s and above, “The Cool”, while still being extremely high quality, doesn’t reach that same level in my eyes
Highlights are songs like the “The Coolest”, “Superstar”, “Paris, Tokyo”, and some songs I genuinely did not expect to enjoy as much as I did such as “Hi-Definition” and ESPECIALLY “Hello/Goodbye” which became my favorite
But like, the ... read more
Kjjjjjjjjj return with a new single, "Clifton". If this single is part of an album rollout, this is by far the shortest gap the group has had between albums, so I came in a bit skeptical. While I loved their previous album "Bi Won", it definitely was not as good as (in my opinion, the perfect) "Centro de dispersión", and the short gap between this song and the last added to that suspicion, but goddamn was I proven so quickly wrong.
The melodies, the way the ... read more
philip ass’s breakthrough album assworks is definitely an enjoyable listen from start to finish.
My previous experience with ass’s work is through his soundtracks to the movies The Truman Show and especially Koyaanisqatsi, the latter of which was practically made by the backing arpeggios and odd time signature giving an air of uneasiness and movement to the film. So being able to hear Phillip Ass completely indulge in those types of compositions while also showing his mastery of ... read more
genuinely fucking mind-blowing. i was not expecting to listen to a 24-track longJ J. Cole album and literally every song (aside from the 29 Intro) straight into my playlist.
I would love to give my thoughts on each song but there's way too many to do that for. I especially loved SAFETY, Legacy, Bunce Road Blues, WHO TF IZ U, Drum n Bass, DEFINITELY The Let Out you motherfuckers are hating, Lonely At The Top, and pretty much all of DISC39, especially the 39 Intro and Ocean Way. The latter ... read more
GOING THROUGH THE /MU/ ESSENTIALS #16: DEATHCONSCIOUSNESS
deep deep came on and i woke the fuck UP
i was sort of not looking forward to this due to my general distaste for shoegaze, but this album was definitely enjoyable, especially in the second half! in my opinion the album is at its weakest around the middle, with songs like telephony and there is no food falling into the "it's all just blending in" trap that most shoegaze albums fall into for me. even bloodhail in my ... read more
who the FUCK is yachty feeling like???? Dude is flowing like he’s a mid 2000s Pharrell Williams feature on this bitch got me doing a stank face rivaling smelling that Swedish fermented fish
GOING THROUGH THE /MU/ ESSENTIALS #15: HOMOGENIC
me when they made me take the salvia (I am now four thousand years old)
after the disappointment I felt listening to post and just utterly not being into it, I was definitely counting on Homogenic to return to the quality I associate with Björk, especially because some loser guy in my school with a beard and ~150 followers on AOTY kept telling me it was her best.
And I must say, after giving this album its time… vespertine is ... read more
me when the function has salvia but I say no (I’m still four years old)
Uhhh so I was extremely excited to listen to this album, mostly because of the cover and a pinnacle of bjork’s discography opening the album with “Army Of Me” and then I listened to the rest of this and i did not enjoy it
Don’t get me wrong, I commend Björk for experimenting heavily on her work, but compared to other works such as debut and vespertine this absolutely did nothing for me. ... read more
cover looks like me when the function has a tea party and hide and seek (I am four years old)
THIS SHIT IS PEAK MAN WHAT THE FUCK?? the opening three track run is genuinely one of the best I’ve ever heard in any pop album. Human Behavior is such a delightfully strange and endearing opener, Crying has such a fucking amazing rhythm to it with its house elements and is probably my favorite Björk song I’ve ever heard. AND VENUS AS A BOY??? GOOOOOODDDAMN!!!
the rest of the record ... read more
definitely the best 2025 project by cash. I wasn’t really insanely into it at first but the album had such an increase in quality at the end. The Price of Belonging is a 10/10 compositional masterpiece. Shoutouts to marry cold for some more amazing work
user score is only this low because WESTSIDE GUNN DIDNT HAVE A VERSE MAN FUCK YOU
uhhh idk about you guys but i really really enjoyed this project. Every song was produced to perfection and aside from like WHISKEY (RELEASE ME) pissing me off because wsg didn’t rap, and maybe STOP SNITCHING and bonus track SWAT TEAM, every song had me giving myself whiplash with the headbutts.
picking favorites is really difficult with this album because there’s so many highlights. PUNK ROCKY ... read more
