I would say I’m a casual Cudi fan. The first two MOTMs are far and away his best with countless memorable singles like Erase Me, Soundtrack 2 My Life, and Pursuit of Happiness. Ever since he did Kids See Ghosts with Ye I was curious like most I’m sure, to see what he would put out next. MOTM 3 is a somewhat fulfilling follow up, but instead of getting KSG Cudi we get The Scott’s Cudi. A LOT of the songs sound eerily similar to what could be a Travis Scott B-side album.
A good portion of MOTM3 is also trap influenced, fine. I’m not opposed to change if he maintains his distinct sound that he has owned for years now. Thankfully he does and most of the album is pretty enjoyable. However, the back half of this album is almost all hits. The features as well on here are all hits. Trippie, Phoebe, and Pop Smoke went off man.
Not Cudi’s best but way far from his worst. I was a bit let down, but I can see it getting better with age.
