I wasn't ready. I never could have predicted how hard this album would go. The first three tracks caught me off guard, and while I did really enjoy most of them I wasn't expecting their sound given the album cover.
When SUMO hit though, I could feel my soul leave my body. I usually never get out of my chair when giving an album a first listen but let me tell you, when SUMO came on I was quickly out of my chair and running around my room hyped as I could possibly be.

EDIT: btw I think Quiet Bison made a better “Flume” album than Flume did this year, so if you’re at all disappointed by this please check out Quiet Bison’s “Dawn”.
It’s interesting how easily Flume can dial back how experimental his production is.
Usually, he substitutes it with catchy, poppier tracks but on Palaces that doesn’t seem to be the case. We’re left with a batch of some of Flume’s most lacklustre songs, especially in the ... read more
