At no point in his career has Hopsin ever matured as an MC or it seems as a person. He started out making rap for 13 year olds and he’s stayed the course consistently. No Words is the best song he’s ever made, not because of its message but because it’s actually a funnily listenable trap track even as a riff, something that can’t be said of anything else he’s ever done.
For me this is an essential, a genuine classic of grime or UK hip hop generally. The album feels concise in its messaging and imagery while being deep in its lyricism. This is one of the genre’s elder statesmen in his absolute element, keeping it thematically on point and leaving absolutely nothing on the table for anyone who’s loved him for years
