Best of Death Cab for Cutie in recent years. Really great album.
I LOVE black metal, but this is just really boring overall. There isn't anything that is specifically "bad", but nothing about this album makes it stand out, which is a bummer because I was really excited for it.
Kind of underwhelming (though still good) considering how amazing his other projects are BUT Self-Medicated is so good it brings it all up by like 10 points
A local record shop was having their 45th anniversary today, and to celebrate they had tons of records on sale, a few I’ll probably review on here cause I got a few. This was one of them. Probably my favorite album to come out of the 90’s west coast scene. Incredible flow, lyricism that bounces between impressive and hilariously witty, but I think the biggest highlight for me are the beats. EVERY TRACK has a top tier instrumentals behind them and is produced flawlessly. Such a fun listen! Bonus points for Del feature :D
…This is actually really good in my opinion. Gnarly and MIA are so over the top that they loop around to being fun for me, and Gabriella is a really pretty song even if it’s very basic.
