Playboi Carti - Whole Lotta Red
80
'Whole Lotta Red' is the second studio album by Playboi Carti, released on December 25, 2020. Half of the hate that's been garnered for this album is just irrational. People are acting like 'Die Lit' was a lyrical masterpiece that bent the very structural being of what we classify a hip-hop song in 2018. It was a fun album loaded with atmospheric bangers and some startlingly good singles, yet a line of average filler songs thrown in the mix. Can people just not take change? 'Whole Lotta Red' is ... read more
Playboi Carti - Die Lit

'Die Lit' is the debut studio album by Playboi Carti, released on May 11, 2018. Remember back in 2016-2018, when people on the internet called any rap music, they didn't like "mumble rap?" Playboi Carti, on the other hand... he is literally a mumble rapper. Mumble rap at its mumble-est. They have every right to call him a mumble rapper. However, they are truly missing out. Missing out on some of the most stupidly fun trap rap ever made. Straight away, you can already see the appeal of ... read more
Playboi Carti - Playboi Carti

'Playboi Carti' is the debut mixtape by Playboi Carti, released on April 14, 2017. The first time I heard this, I thought it was one of the most boring and unenthusiastic records I had ever heard. Now I think it's just amazing. While I do have a preference towards 'Die Lit,' and 'Whole Lotta Red', this tape still has it's place as a fun cloud rap record with many of Carti's most iconic songs like "Location" and "Wokeuplikethis*". The record also feels less polished than 'Die ... read more
Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered.

'untitled unmastered.' is a compilation album by Kendrick Lamar, released on March 4, 2016. Kendrick Lamar has been consistent ever since 'Section.80' sealed his place as possibly the most seamless existing blend of lyrical intelligence, musical ambition, and pop smarts in the rap game. Kendrick can get by no matter what idea he chooses to penetrate, remaining one of the few artists in any genre who can juggle massive popularity with almost unanimous critical acclaim. 'untitled unmastered' is ... read more
Tyler, The Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST
85
'Call Me If You Get Lost' is the sixth studio album by Tyler, The Creator, released on June 25, 2021. Tyler returns with a more laid back and fun record with 'CMIYGL,' and it feels like this album is him celebrating his victory lap, which after 'IGOR' I think he has the full right to do so. While not at the level of innovation of Igor, this album is pretty fun from front to back, Tyler makes a comeback to that fun style of Hip Hop he developed on 'Flower Boy,' and kinda expands them in a ... read more

About

Just so you know. I don't consider myself a critic, at least not in the typical sense. I simply like what I like.

People are too emotional to be objective. Don't poison the well, think for yourself.
