I didn’t seem to enjoy this album as much as everyone else, but it was good. The lyrics and the production are great, but I feel like the monotone flow didn’t work well with the beats. I thought Guru’s voice sounded pretty dull on most of the tracks and not as good as it does in songs like Work, Above The Clouds, Full Clip, etc.

Great lyricism, feels like a very personal album that tells a story and paints the picture of a reckless lifestyle

Classic (no I’m not biased although I have a Mobb Deep pfp). No album out there sounds like this and this dark production with street lyrics are redefining. Amazing album, recommend it if you are trying to get into old school hip-hop or simply if you haven’t heard it. Fav tracks: Shook Ones Pt. II, Right Back At You, Party Over, Survival of the Fittest, Give Up the Goods, Q.U. - Hectic, Eye for a Eye, Up North Trip, Drink Away the Pain

(This review isn’t based on influence, on impact and things like that, but strictly how high the quality of this album is in my opinion.) To me, this is one of the best rap albums ever made and is often overlooked, not only because it wasn’t that mainstream but also because I feel critics don’t give it proper credits. The album, from the first track all the way to the last track, is amazing. No songs are skippable. Great flow, lyrics and production.
