jesus christ it's getting serious. ok so now the sampling is at an all-time low so far. it's still here, but the emphasis is more on the noise and the samples are more in the background. they're also distorted and stretched for way longer than on the previous stages. much more droney and the track lengths are way longer too. we've come a long way, but it's not over yet.
it's getting even darker and unsettling as it goes along. the samples are getting stranger and more distorted, echoey, and fading into each other while the mix and vinyl crackles become louder. tracks here are also suddenly stopping and moving to the next track on this album. it's also a little less sample heavy than the first two stages. we're not at the breaking point yet, but we're getting there.
this part is more ambient and darker than stage 1. it's also more depressing and much less hopeful than stage 1 was too. i'm assuming this is when the person experiencing this disease is accepting it. this was harder to sit through, but arguably as satisfying.
absolutely beautiful. the caretaker's use of samples and effects create an atmosphere that's all his own. while nothing much is technically going on here, there are some stunningly beautiful tracks here. plus it's clear he's trying to set up the atmosphere in this first part. can't wait to hear the rest.
