Aries is the Kansas rapper, singer, songwriter and producer who kinda gave up his older Youtube content and decided to focus on his music career. I was not really an Aries fan at all but saw the buzz his debut was doing in 2019 and decided to check it out. While I didn't find it stunning, I can recall me saying that it was probably the best musical statement made by a Youtuber at the time (oh well Quadeca has that crown now). Most of the songs on WELCOME HOME are pretty memorable and they did do a good job representing the emo rap scene at the time. Now 2 years later, we first got a great sneak peak to this album with the gorgeous lead single Fools Gold. Quick spoiler : its the best song on this record. Its just so colorful, the production is magnificent and Aries´s performance is outstanding. Then things kind of went down. Conversations is not here so I am skipping that one. It wasn't that bad tbh. Ditto is probably the most experimental single and while it was good, I felt like the quality was going down and then we hit Kids On Molly. Jesus this is mid. Kids On Molly has really average production, the vocals are some of his worse compared to the singles and the lyrical content could have been way better. We had One Punch as the last track and this also mid. The vocal change at the end is kinda wack cant lie. So Aries was 2 for 2 singles wise so I was really skeptical. I knew the project could be just nothing more than "ok". And while it was more than "ok", its almost nothing better. Actually I rated both Welcome Home and this record a 66. SO TECHNICALLY THEY ARE IN THE SAME LEVEL. The thing that I don't enjoy with BELIEVE IN ME, WHO BELIEVES IN YOU are the songs that are....are too much. How Rude is the worst track on the album because of it. No Aries, the song wasn't too long WHY A BEAT CHANGE. How Rude was just ok but it made me think about what he was doing because I don't really know. Eta and Outdated are boring as f*ck I couldn't be bothered and ok, the rest was better. But still, 4 out of 12 song a.k.a 33% of the tracklist was boring. I can say that One Punch and Desperado were just decent so that's half of the tracklist. But ok with 6 ok and decent songs, the rest was...it was good I cant lie. Bounty Hunter was a good opener, Fools Gold, like I said, the best track on the record. Riding is a dope song and I don't really know why It was a single. Easy has a really cool melody, Ditto like I said is also really experimental and good and When The Lights Out, while the worst from the 6 tracks its still an acceptable ending. I don't know really but I think I just went through highs and lows that aren't really what Aries normally does. I am not really underwhelmed but I am not happy with the result either.
