I think it would be good from here to go into stuff like dream pop and eventually shoegaze. I think that should eventually ease you into rock and other genres. The most popular dream pop bands are Beach House and Cocteau Twins and the most popular shoe gaze bands are My Bloody Valentine and Slowdive. The two genres have a lot of overlap but I'd say Dream Pop is a lot nicer on the ears
