So, I'm starting another discog deep dive, but unlike Radiohead, I've heard every album Metallica have made (except Lulu). My dad loves this shit so I had the pleasure to hear their albums by proxy. I like them and they have a new album coming in April, so it's a pretty good time to this, I think.
Kill 'Em All. The thrash metal debut. For a debut album it's pretty decent. Sure, the mixing on the vocals are horrendous, the songs are slighty repetitive and the lyrics are a bit corny, but the guitar solos and the drumming are dope as hell. Shit, I listen to this for the production, not the lyrics. Do I return to this that much? No. Is it still a good album? Hell yeah!
