I really don't know what to say man... With Swans going from their original punk/sludgey heavy sound to this and then disappearing for 14 years is really amazing. The story behind this album is fucking nuts aswell, I really do truly believe in an alternate timeline that this was the last album ever created by Swans and they never ended up reforming, and I think this album is such a perfect ending.
As someone who doesn’t label themself as the biggest Xiu Xiu fan, I am pleasantly surprised with this album. This is definitely their most accessible album to date and 100% my favorite release from them. Its as disturbing as a typical Xiu Xiu album can get yet it also manages to be groovy and I couldn’t stop bopping my head throughout my listen. After listening to Arp Omni I fully expected this to be a more ambient-esque album but I was as wrong as ever. Great job Xiu Xiu.

As a huge Zelienople fan and have been one since the release of 2020's "Hold You Up" which was a breath of fresh air for the band after 2015's "Show Us The Fire", this one is good, its not great or amazing, just good. I like how heavy the blues feel is on this album compared to their other works, but it just isn't all that interesting compared to their other stuff, its just a very SAFE album, which makes it kind of boring for the most part. This one has definitely grown on me a whole lot. It does have some of its low points, not the biggest fan of First of the Last Glaciers, when I first listened to the album, I thought it was going to have an ongoing theme like on Military Alphabet with the field recording that sounds like it was lost and eventually found, all distorted and shows remains of a civilization that once was.
