When they went to Klap and released their first ep with that company I was sure that they were going to establish themselves even more as a relevant group musically speaking. The two last releases are brutally stoping these hopes. The quality of the production has been dropping.
Especially for the two first songs on this ep, including the main track, The instrumentals sound cheap and quirky. It sounds extremely kpop and in a bad way, in a very boys groups way. It tries hard to be perceived as serious, pushing a girl crush concept that feels out of place, as if it was supposed to be released 7 years ago.
That being said, you can hear even older influences of kpop and this time around it sounds good, such as in Mic Check, Addicted to you, it's far from being perfect but you gotta appreciate it.
I recognize that this is not a superb EP, even more compared to their previous releases, that the songs could have been more worked on, or that some of them should have not made it to the album, but I still feel like listening to 3 out of 5 tracks so I am kind of balanced on this.
