Steve Earle - J.T.

Country, to say the least, is not a genre I am highly invested in, or even a genre I enjoy listening to, so I was hesitant to try this album, but I'm really glad I did.

This album is a tribute to Earle's late son, J.T who had died of an accidental cocaine overdose months before this album was released and the lyrics and themes reflect that heavily, these themes are very emotional and it is obvious how the tragic incident has effected him in this record.

This record sounds like country but more accessible to a wider audience and less stereotypical and blatantly "country", and thats why I like it. Its country for people who don't like country, but in a good way.
