The Collective #4
"It's not that I am ignoring you, it's just that this is a really good song."
The 2015 art-pop masterpiece from U.S Girls explores themes of war, discrimination and ageing, these lyrics have multiple layers and in-depth references and meanings behind them, and it is amazing. The songs are (mostly) quite short but in this time I could not ask for more. The production is often bombastic, groovy and in your face, especially in the middle of the album and it fits incredibly with her majestic, queenly vocals and insane catchy hooks. It all comes together to create the musical equivalent of heaven. And I am not even being hyperbolic. It is literally that good.
