the songs that are mostly pop/dance are very interesting and build the album very well even if some go more to the rock side (Phantom & your age) and even country (send my love to john)
Rina doesn't fail to create a cohesive album, however, if you were already following the releases, you won't have a great experience listening to the full album for the first time since a good amount of songs were worked as singles previously, this takes away some of the excitement in having the first contact with the complete project, but it doesn't make it less interesting or bad because of that
lyrically we have a good album, the artist addresses several subjects and brings in the middle of the songs themes such as reflections on her childhood, LGBTQIA+ celebration and emotional overcoming
finally, we have a well produced and interesting album, even though "Hold the Girl" is not as intriguing an experience as in her debut album, we have a project that speaks well with the singer's audience and introduces her easily to the mainstream without her losing her identity and personality, no doubt "Hold the Girl" is one of the best albums of the year, its cohesive production and good compositions highlight it in the midst of pop works that are increasingly empty and dull
