“I don’t make music, I make hits”
This line immediately sucked any interest or faith I had in the album out of me.
Even if he isn’t 100% serious with this line, it makes everything about him make much more sense. Everything he does feels like one big performance. He always looks perfectly groomed and polished; he never dares to appear even a little flawed. Even in his TikTok videos he has this perfect lighting. He shows absolutely no vulnerability whatsoever and eggs ... read more
This album, and this band in general, is so nice to hear, especially when this band in based in a country with an industry infested with greed.
The production is so well done and unique. The album has a sound that you won’t hear anywhere else. It sounds like youre walking through a forest even though there are a lot of synths. Each song is very long too, so every track is able to fully develop.
Crumbling is marked as a “must read” album, and for good reason. It offers a very ... read more
Mid-Air Thief is a great example of the value of indie rock. This album is very abstract and unique, and features many wacky and interesting sounds that guarantee that you’ll keep thinking about it after listening.
Mid-Air Thief has this dreamy, nature-type sound that is so cultivating and alluring. I really can’t get enough of them.
WOOOOWW….. Everything about this album is so amazing.
One of my favorite things about Billie Eilish is her vocals. A lot of people used to criticize her vocals a lot in the past because they thought that it barely counted at singing, but this isn’t true. Billie has a talent for expressing her emotions in her voice in a way that sounds very raw and vulnerable.
The songwriting is smooth and fits into the songs like a puzzle piece. The instrumentals are gorgeous; It feels like an ... read more
At first while listening to this album, I didn’t like how Charli would repeat the same lines over and throughout it. After listening to the last track 365, it sounds like this album is supposed to be a loop, especially since 365 is about partying all the time, non stop. The repeating lyrics reflect this supposed loop to me.
This album is very introspective. Charli discusses her insecurities, such as her weight and how her face looks, or if she even deserves her success. She also alludes ... read more
This album is the sonic equivalent of walking through an enchanted forest
How do you even give an album like this justice in a review?!?!?!?!?
The production is literally amazing, especially in Wesley’s Theory. I love how “u” is produced too; While Kendrick’s performance alone makes this track heartbreaking, the beats that he performs on, including the parts in between, add to it in a way that made me feel like I was experiencing his emotions with him. His songwriting in “King Kunta”, How Much a Dollar Cost”, and “The ... read more
“Maybe it gotta grow on y’all idk 😭” - Yung Miami
This album is definitely messy, but it’s not THAAAAT bad. I almost feel like she was trying to experiment with stuff which is why it’s the way it is. If only it was a little more cohesive and organized…
I literally cried when I first listened to this album. Not because it’s sad, but their voices are just so beautiful. Every time I revisit their music I am blown away by their vocal abilities, even though I’m very fimiliar with them.
This song is so bad that I think it’d be offensive to actually good rappers to put this slop in the same category as them.
This guy can’t rap. He sounds so monotone throughout the entire song. It reminds me of when an actor doesn’t even look interested in the movie they’re acting in.
Also, I get that CORPSE used to make horror videos, but I don’t get why his music is sometimes described as “horror”, and this is coming from someone who gets scared very ... read more
I’ve listened to this like three different times because each time after listening to it I’d forget what the songs sound like, so I’d listen to it again to see if it’s actually that bad. It is.
First of all, the lyrics are incredibly corny. Second of all, although he’s usually able to hit the notes in his songs (except for that one time..), his songs are as vocally challanging as the average nursery rhyme. I don’t understand why some people actually think he ... read more
“I calculate that you’re not as calculated, I can even predict your angles”
Dropping a disstrack 30 minutes after Drake dropped “Family Matters” and responding to what he said on it is ridiculous.
Also, that beat is horrifying. Kendrick sounds like a villian on this. Could you imagine someone dropping a disstrack about you and they start addressing your family???
It’s been like a month and I still haven’t fully processed these lyrics… 😭😭
But seriously, this track is an AMAZINGGGG display of Kendricks abilities, like, in general. Songwriting, rapping, vocals… One of my absolute favorite things about Kendrick is how he uses his voice to convey emotion in his songs and this song is literally full of that.
And obviously the bars are literally crazy… I wish I could listen to this for the first time again.
This is probably my favorite Sheena Ringo album. The entire project sounds so dreamy and the violin adds such a majestic touch to it.
Sheena Ringo is one of my favorite artists of all time and, as I expected, this album turned out to be great.
First of all, the cover matches the album really well. The album sounds very vibrant and fun, which fits well witht he cover and the title, which means “carnival”.
I really enjoyed the original songs on this track specifically because of how it encapsulates Sheena Ringo’s sound so well. They’re weird (in a good way) and unique. The features fit into their ... read more
This act definitely has a darker atmosphere than the first but there is absolutely no downgrade in quality.
Probably my favorite thing about this album is how creepy the songs (and the music videos that accompany them) are. I remember watching them late a night a few years ago and I just felt so “off” in a way that I’ve never felt before. I’m really impressed by how Kikuo and HanaTan managed to make an album that sounds scary but alluring at the same time.
