Don’t really understand why the mixing on this album is “purposeful” while the mixing on a number of Blu albums is “unlistenable.”

So I listened to this album at a listening party, and it was very mid. Not as bad as the first two, but immediately less memorable and less distinct. So I listened to this album at a listening party and overall I think it's pretty good. Not as consistent as NFR nor as concise or direct as Chemtrails, but still an ambitious and unique listening experience. Occasionally there will be moments that are too longwinded, like the unnecessary interludes, and I'm not entirely sure how well the hip hop fusions on the final three tracks worked, but the best elements of her songwriting show up on this album, with the title track and the track with ... read more

The first six tracks are INCREDIBLE. This thing FUCKS SO HEAVY. Then it starts to get a little bit familiar on tracks 7 and 8, but by the final track we just get a barrage of noise that made my jaw drop. Holy shit this is amazing, I loved almost every minute of this.
