you make lovin fun is one of my favorite mac tracks.
One of those classic "its hyped for a reason" examples.
I own a first US pressing with the textured jacket, presumably early in the stamper because it sounds UNREAL
My dad met/had a drink with layne in 1993. Layne was super conversational and happy to give my dad time. They ended up talking for a really long time about life, music, where they were headed. My dad was a music fan, loved rock, but was getting a responsible job, and layne was already into the rockstar life a decent bit, and I guess they found the contrast between themselves interesting considering they both loved the same kind of music (?) anyways my dad bought like EVERY single layne ANYTHING ... read more
100% has some weird lyrics, but it's very solid no-nonsense american rock.
back before snoop became a complete weenie. Amazing record with some not super well aged opinions on women
Really excellent blues rock record. Was NOT expecting that Little Wing cover out of nowhere
used to listen to this while I played phantom forces like 10 years ago. amazing record.
this is for the american warner tape (aka different tracklist/tracks)
Black Sabbath
The Wizard
Wasp / Behind The Wall Of Sleep / Bassically / N.I.B.
Wicked World
A Bit Of Finger / Sleeping Village / Warning
The riffs are incredible. you can hear clear notes of jazz influence but also extremely hard rock and dark undertones. Really excellent record front to back
significantly underrated 90s album. I'd consider this one of the best of the decade.
Every single track is just so good. Psych blues heaven. I'd consider this my favorite album of the 1970s and my second favorite of all time. Like honestly its hard to put into words how good the music is. even the tracks some people classically don't get as much (cars hiss, king snake, wasp) I love. I mean that panned drum solo on wasp is just INSANE (bobobobo BWOW bobobo BWOW bobobo BWOW bobo NOW LISTEN TO THIS AND I'LL TELL YOU ABOUT THE TEXAS...)
Favorite tracks: all.
what was once a semi-disorganized 'jam-type' band becomes EXTREMELY skilled and coherent. This is an album meant for slow relaxing summer days, and it compacts it into an album more effectively than most other summery efforts from other bands.
I'd consider Sugar Magnolia the band's best/tightest track. It's a perfect folk rock song.
Harriet Wheeler is a top tier vocalist. I do hope someday she and the sundays reunite for at least something. Great group.
very fun steely dan joint. first pressings are extremely pleasant to listen to.
holy shit watching the reviewslop accounts try to make puns about this album being bad is annoying the fuck out of me
Listened to the 2009 Vinyl reissue cut by Kevin Gray, it's audiophile quality and sounds absolutely amazing. And it's in print. If you own a turntable, run out and get it.
I am 23. I loved this album when I was a kid. I still do. There are some seriously amazing tracks on this album, outside of Basket Case and When I Come Around. It's a tight ass album with ... read more
I feel like larry david asking for a "vanilla bullshit latte cappa- whatever" anytime I listen to a "post- something" album, but hot damn this one immediately grabbed me as being fantastic.
