Fuck all this bands in the 90s doing an ENTIRE album of covers.
I like the bands they covered but that doesn’t mean I liked Slayer’s version. But it is a fun listen.
What Slayer tried to do here? They built a very interesting style of Thrash Metal from Reign in Blood to Seasons to throw into the air and try a somewhat hardcore punk influenced album. Some people enjoy this one but I think there’s nothing to be scrapped
1986 what a fantastic year for Extreme Music.
Peace Sells is groundbreaking, with a lot of great riffs and interesting melodies. The lyrics messes with politics, with the occult, with death metal violence style of songs.
What you listen here everybody except maybe Metallica and Slayer tried to replicate on further Thrash Releases.
A complete Thrash/Extreme Metal album.
You can see they spent the budget of this album on drugs because it sounds bad. But hey, it kinda gave some aura to the beggining of thrash metal.
It's a collection of fun, energic and headbanging tunes. The highlight are the riffs, Mr. Mustaine is one of the Riff Gods out there, rightfully.
Another thing, this doesn't sound like a complete ripoff from Venom like other Speed Metal LPs from that era.
I can't decide if this or Reign in Blood are the best Slayer albuns.
This one is perfect, almost solid 100 rated songs. The melodies are interesting and it has the heaviness reminiscent of Reign in Blood.
1990 is another great year for Extreme Music.
