I dont know what to speak about BTS.It is one of these artists that really do not evoke any emotion.Maybe it is for me but as a person who has a sister who is an ARMY,it is one of these bands that have been overhyped and overrated by their fans.I dont know how exactly I should be an ARMY tho.BTS is one of these bands that really lifted the KPop movement but rn they lack many things that made them special.MOTS7 is just a dark glimpse of that reality.Marketed as a personal album,MOTS7 feels forced at every point. The opening was solid NGL,i loved the set right there and it showcases some of the best rap by RM.However,it starts dipping after that with the next song Boy With Luv.Boy With Luv is a snoozefest for me.It is like a song that just feels reminiscent of the 2000s pop style. It tries to make itself look personal, but it fails to do that. Also why Is Halsey in it
Next one is Make it Right. This song is written and feels like an Ed Sheeran song which is where the problem begins.BTS really should stop hiring western producers. The song was repetitive but not that great
However, things kinda change with Jamais Vu which is a soothing song and ups the game a bit. Then comes the overly distractive Dionysus.Another problem with BTS is the arrangement of songs.Makes no sense.Dionysus is a flooded song which I really do not care about
Interlude Shadow comes next which I feel is a great song. This feels natural. Then comes the so called Masterpiece of BTS,Black Swan.No offense but this sounds like something an Amateurish producer would make. The regular trap beat is just too generic.I dont feel like I will really understand the worth of this song. But it is too boring.
But the next song oh is a treat.Filter.The opening is golden but it does not last longer though. But anyways it is my favourite track.
Then things start falling downhill. The point here is that even though it is BTS's personal endeavour,it is shaped by what fans want to see.The later half is just too commercial with heavy autotune and fan service attached here and there. It is just as mediocre as something you listen to in your daily life. Now there could be two conclusions.
1.This album was rushed up for a comeback(which makes no sense because they are huge AF)
2.They want to garner a lot of airplay to attract more potential fans
Hence we can say it is kinda the most scariest album for BTS because we are seeing them transition to commercial cash cows. And Bang Si Hyuk is also milking them with it.This personal ideology is just a gimmick to make the album look unique and is easily bought by fans. But nonethless BTS might be regarded as the Beatles but one thing that will never make them Beatles is that they make music according to the market trends and aren't really bringing any change to Music or even KPop(Their popularity led to westernization of KPop which is why they sound like western pop in Korean language)
BUT SIR BTS HAS THE BEST LYRICS OUT THERE
You know that personal lyrics isnt a new thing. The best bet here is that you have been deaf for almost all of your life until BTS happened or you are one of those people who like cute boys
Overall,it doesnt matter because BTS is big.I mean they can make 10 versions of Dynamite and that would sell like hotcakes. And their fanbase who really want to throw BTS in every conversation
No hate to any of the boys
And Hate to the korean Stan Polley who keeps all the wealth that BTS gave him and gives 1.4% of the shares to the boys totally(i.e 0.2% to each of them)
