This record really exceeded my expectations. Kanye is taking the dystopian trap sound he began to develop in the unfinished “Donda 2” mixing it with the attitude and more soulful/house sound of his unfinished collab album with James Blake “War”. All of that combined with some Yeezus and Ty Dolla $ign and you get "Vultures"
From the beautiful intro “Stars”, to the eerie grooviness of “Paid” to the transcendent “Back to Me”, “Beg Forgiveness” and “Good (Don't Die)” and anthemic “Carnival” the sound of this LP is unique and unrecognizable
With exception of the title track which although better in the context of the album is still nothing special every song is consistently great, creative and although very different and unique still fitting in the aesthetic of the record
In a moment where Hip Hop felt awfully stagnant Ye is here to shake things up. Vultures is experimental, raw, unapologetic and inevitable
Sidenote : Although I really enjoy what this album does musically we shouldn’t ignore Kanye’s recently awful comments and behavior. It’s disrespectful and hatred spreading
