Joyce Manor - I Used to Go to This Bar
70

I liked it! Really short, but it’s fun. Not as strong as Never Hungover Again, but there’s some good songs on here

Yes - Fragile
94

This album still sounds incredibly fresh in 2025!

Favs: Roundabout, South Side of the Sky, Heart of Sunrise

Nas - Illmatic

Perfect album

Tears for Fears - Songs from the Big Chair
91

Wow wow! What a great album!

I didn't realize how many of these songs I knew due to them being so omnipresent in Pop culture

Ray Vaughn - The Good The Bad The Dollar Menu
83

Really good mixtape! Hope this gets more attention soon

Beastie Boys - Paul's Boutique
88

In this case, the phrase "they don't make them like they used to anymore" applies explicitly with this album's production. What a phenomenal album!

Le Tigre - Le Tigre
73

Very influential!

Cat Stevens - Tea for the Tillerman
80

Damn good Folk Rock, and way ahead of it's time in some aspects! There's stuff here that doesn't sound too out of place in a modern day Folk and Indie.

Fav Tracks: Wild World, Sad Lisa, Longer Boats, Into White, Father and Son
Least Fav: Tea For the Tillerman (only for the fact that it's too short; feels unfinished.)

Bruce Springsteen - Born in the U.S.A.
82

Man, everything about this album screams "80's" yet it has so much class.

It's a classic for a reason!

Fav Tracks: Born In The U.S.A., Darlington County, I'm On Fire, Bobby Jean, Dancing in the Dark, My Hometown
Least Fav: Cover Me

Ski Mask the Slump God - The Lost Files
70

Lotta memories with so many of these tracks!! Glad Ski was able to officially release Nationwide and Skimeetsworld alongside this compilation - those are some of his best songs imo!

Quadeca - Vanisher, Horizon Scraper

First initial reaction:

It's cool! Beautifully produced, with a ton of dark, noisy moments sandwiched between these lush, grandiose, classical-like pieces. A huge highlight for me was The Great Bakunawa with Danny Brown. Both artists performed extremely well here, and I'd love to see more collabs from them in the future! Thundrrr and Casper are also two highlights from the second half of this hour long project. Maruja's narration that transitions into this distorted, thumping, ... read more

The Cure - Pornography

This is excellent!!

Tyler, The Creator - DON'T TAP THE GLASS
87

First Initial Reaction:

This is really good! I was surprised at how fast it went by. Even after 2 full listens, I'm left wanting more.

The new direction Tyler is going in here is quite interesting! It has a Pop, Dance, Noise-adjacent flair to it that is really unique to this project. What's interesting about the pacing of this album is that the second half of the album feels like a lost remix EP from the late 90's/Early 00's, whereas the first half feels like a natural ... read more

Starship - Knee Deep in the Hoopla
NR

Couldn't get past track 3. The production is so overblown! Wearing headphones probably didn't help, but they're not needed; there's no subtly to the music at all. It has one mode: LOUD! It was kind of annoying to listen to after the first track.

That said, We Built This City is not an awful song. Just bland and forgettable. Sara and Tomorrow Doesn't Matter Tonight, on the other hand, are pretty bad.

Justin Bieber - Purpose

Probably his best album. After 3 albums that’s all been flops, this seems like a fluke in retrospect, but one that I’m glad is here.

Fav Tracks: What Do You Mean, Sorry, Love Yourself, No Sense, Where are Ü

Justin Bieber - SWAG

I felt like I was being trolled the entire time.

Clipse - Let God Sort Em Out
98

First initial reaction:
This is amazing! The wordplay, production, charisma, and most of the hooks are the highlights for me. That said, Pharrell could've maybe had someone else do So Far Ahead and By The Grace Of God. I'm also not crazy about Stove God Cooks' hook on F.I.C.O.. These may grow on me with more listens though!

7/18/2025 Edit:
After multiple listens, I can firmly say this is my favorite album of the year so far!

D12 - Devil's Night

It’s decent! The back half could’ve been stronger. If Shit on You was included instead of Blow My Buzz, that would’ve brought the score up for me.

Personal Favs: Shit Can Happen, Pistol Pistol, Ain’t Nuthin’ but Music, Purple Pills, Fight Music, Girls
Least Fav: Blow My Buzz

D12 - D12 World
62

It's 'ight! Not bad, not particularly anything amazing though. There are some highlights on here!
The features are really good. Obie Trice on Loyalty was excellent; B-Real on the chorus of American Psycho II is infectious and catchy, even on first listen; Young Zee and Bugz (RIP) provide a much needed detour from the rest of the tracks. The production, though parts of it hasn't aged well, is good. (That beat on AP2 is amazing! Dre's drums never disappoints) The beat to D-12 ... read more
