I've seen some people say that you should just sit back and enjoy this album, just don't think about it too much but that simply does not work when there are quite a few songs that are borderline unlistenable, looking at you Plastic Doll. There are also a couple of remixes that are not bad per se, just really boring, mainly Enigma and 1000 Doves, I definitely know Doss can do better than that.

Maybe it helps to say that I was not a big fan of Chromatica in the first place, sure it has some ... read more

Following her brilliant last album Grey AREA, it was always going to be interesting to see where she goes next and while Drop 6 was a solid follow-up EP, it was only in this past year that Simbi has manged to establish herself as one of the greatest in the game at the moment.

The first single we got was Introvert and I that song already had me hooked with the teaser, not a single moment in music this year has matched the sheer grandiosity of the horns and the intro. Following that Woman took ... read more

Take two of the biggest names in UK rap and this is what you get? From a collab this big you'd expect a song that's able to get to the top of the charts and stay there for weeks but this sounds like something that would leave the top 40 after only one week. Legitimately every song on Psychodrama and Heavy is the Head is better than this, it's just disappointing really.

It's a great pop song that I've had on repeat for the last two months and has made me really excited for the rest of the project. And as for the other tracks? Well, they're good enough, but none of the others really manage to stand out as much as Black Hole does. One Foot In Front Of The Other and Walk are probably my favourites so far but are both still a step below Black ... read more

I will start this off by saying I adored Slayyyter's self-titled mixtape. It was focused, coceptually solid and the tracks were really consistently engaging and good, it was definitely one of my favourite projects of 2019. This on the other hand, while still being good, is definitely less so.

While I did really like the singles, especially Troubled Paradise, they are quite clearly too stylistically divergent to all be on one album and so I came into this expecting a lot more of that, but it ... read more
