Clairo - Sling

WOW, now that's what I call a sophisticated folk album. Indie superstar Clairo is delivering a masterpiece as her sophomore album and I wish I could say I'm completely shocked because I'm not, I've always liked her and I've always known she's the shit. Going towards a completely but not so far way from her previous album, this time around 'Sling' brings to the table something straight-forward and very emotional. Not only the singer improved her lyrics immensily she also produced this whole ass album with mister Anthonoff who's the main indie women producer these days.

There is something so touching about the way she sings in every track, there's also a careful attention to detail in the very slick and smart production (not really extraordinary because we're already used to Jack's signature), still very fucking great. Maturity is clearly her middle name this time around, while 'Immunity' felt so youthful and a little naive, 'Sling' is about rupture and the freedom of feeling in your own terms, it's about vulnerability and going insane every once in a while.

Whatever it is people found so boring about her in the past, all arguments are cemented. This girl turning into a alternative diva is reaching for the stars, and she aimed pretty well. We gon hear about her for a very long time, can't fucking wait to see what she does next.
