'Hold The Girl' is indeed a complete pop album, for its variety of sound and it's unique sounding. Rina Sawayama is a name that I attach to quality, of course that in her sophomore album nothing would change in regards to the production, it's getting better and better, to the point that my expectations are higher than a Dubai building. This time around the artist is much more reflexive in her personal life within her lyrics, there is a little more complexity to it, but also lots of freedom of form, naturality is also a great part in the construction of the project, the songs feel much more expansive, much of these tracks sound like a timeless classic but also really fresh. Everything feels like one, something about this reminds me of every single step that pop music went to from the early 2000's till today, it's like a very fancy time machine, incredible from top to the bottom.
