A blissful record marked by incredible production value and a magnificently stellar vocal performance by Victoria Legrand who at all points captivates with her soothing and elegant voice. This is beyond what one would consider a "pop" album, with so many intricate moving parts that it would be impossible to categorize it as something so simple. Even dream pop doesn't seem to capture the sound of Beach House, who of course are a dreamy sort of sound but at many points are even jovial in their performance across this record.
Even after a few listens this doesn't completely captivate me across the full spectrum of the release, but that's perfectly okay from my perspective. It does exactly what it is meant to do, and that is provide a beautiful and vibrant listening experience.
