On the other hand, yeah, it's the mixing, I'm sorry. I really can't get over just how blown out and badly mixed some of these ... read more
I don't know what this band does (maybe an actual deal with devil, as pointed out in Up Song), but their music has always such an emotional impact on me. They keep finding new ways to hit me in the feels and make me loose myself in their sound. And with this new release, it's no different.
I mean, what is there left to say about Black Country, New Road that hasn't been said at this point? These guys came out of nowhere at the ... read more
Swans are finally releasing the first single to what could sadly be their last LP, and oh. my. god it's good. The track has this insane groove with a very prominent bass line, which are extremely reminiscent of To Be Kind, but also the feel and atmosphere of something from The Glowing Man. I loved it and really cannot wait for this album.
Edit: 70 -> 80 Alright, a few more listens and this already grew on me a lot, but the production is once again, feeling like it's lacking something... The bass isn't nearly as prominent as it should be, and I don't know what is up with Danny Brown's vocal mixing on these couple of singles, but it needs to stop. His voice has no punch at all, and that's Danny Brown we're talking about here, probably one of the most unique ... read more

Almost a year and a half after the release of the first single "mememe", and many, many delays later, 100 gecs sophomore album is finally here, and it is very good. I was a little scared about this, as I was not sure if the more pop punk direction that the singles were going for appealed to me that much, but, thankfully, in the context of the album, it all ... read more
Despite being extremally excited for their new album, it's been a while since I don't listen to some gecs, so I decided to revisit their debut (mind you, I've probably listened to this album a million times already) just to get in the mood, and man, I really wouldn't want to be in the skin of someone who doesn't enjoy this. Out of silly voices, dumb lyrics ... read more
On their second album, Dispirited Spirits expands their array of influences, adding a lot of midwest emo and jazz elements into their songs. These influences, for the most part, works on the band's favor and help to create an incredible ... read more
The production is very good, as it is to expect from a song made by these two, but I don't know, it sort of feels like it doesn't go anywhere? Here's hoping that the track grows on me once the full project gets released, because, judging by the fact that the whole album will have 14 songs but only be 27 minutes long, it's ... read more
This LP is absolutely incredible, masterfully produced and put together, but, most of all, one the most beautiful things you'll ever let your ears have the privilege to hear. From majestic, and jazz inspired soundscapes, to crushing drones with some touches of the most spacey and ... read more
Easily the most mid single so far. I was actually kinda hooked at the start, the track gave off some neat And Justice For All vibes, but this lacks any sort interesting development to keep me interested, besides just moving my head to the main riff.
The tracks here are unforgiven, the opener, "donkey show", is a crushing piece of industrial and noise rock, the following track, "Mosquito", has one hell of a catchy hook: WITH A BODY COUNT HIGHER THAN A MOSQUITO. And that's not to mention the absolute chaotic, noisy, eerie, ... read more
In 2020, during the pandemic, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett did their best to keep the fans' minds busy, since, at the beginning of that year, they started Song Machine: Season 1. Each month, a single was released, and the final project turned out to be a super fun album, with songs featuring the band's signature cartoonish production. And, as the album pleased both critics ... read more
I was still feeling a little worried about the future of the band without Isaac, but this performance put those worries to rest. It's stuff like this that makes Black Country, New Road the most exciting band currently in music.
We finally have an official live ... read more
