God Does Like Ugly is amazing. Like really fucking good. Better than 95% of the albums I've heard this year.

But, I just don't quite think it reaches the level of The Forever Story.

TFS is a HIGH bar to clear. Genuinely one of the best, most cohesive and well put together, most listenable and still impactful albums in rap full stop. JID would have had to pull an absolute miracle to top it, and while he came close, he did not.

Good album, but honestly I think its a tad bit overrated. I really enjoyed listening to it, but there were few points where I was really surprised or impressed. Chromakopia is a much more mature piece, both musically and through its theming. I know there's a story being told, but I often found it difficult to follow. Maybe a me problem, but it still affected my listening experience nonetheless.
