this is a good pop album, a big improvement on the '7' EP. gets very corny, nas is not a very subtle or poetic songwriter, but it does seem like he's found his voice

this is actually probably the most listenable ye has been for a few years, and it feels like an actual rap album so it has that going for it. it is however very very boring, which is about the worst thing that a kanye album can be. it doesn't have any identity, memorable beats or verses, and just feels very plain and surprisingly inoffensive given all the "controversy" or whatever. won't be getting a second listen

get the feeling this is an album that takes a few listens to really appreciate... the 70s folk thing definitely suits her delicate songwriting but its such a carbon copy of that production style that it loses some of the personality that her debut had, meaning you really have to dig deep to care about what you're listening to. there's definitely something there tho, feels like it comes from a genuine place of appreciation

such an underrated gem... "unbroken chain" and "scarlet begonias" 2 of the very finest dead tunes

yes it is tantalisingly short and kinda safe for what we're used to from vince but there's a consistency and replay-ability that his other projects don't have. some of these kenny beats are nice as hell

wolf alice try on a lot of different hats on 'blue weekend' and altho they all end up sounding like wolf alice, they never really show any personality or edge. i can imagine it may pack some emotional punch if you're a huge fan but to me it's pretty bland and forgettable

on first listen i feared this was going to be an hour of bragging about being on holiday in europe, which does get tiresome quickly and is definitely the album's worst quality, BUT once you go deep, the album is his most varied, eclectic and has some of his most interesting beats and verses. the run of "WUSYANAME" through to "MASSA" is basically perfect, and you're going to hear a lot of praise for "WILSHERE" which is a one of tyler's best performances ever hands ... read more

obvs this just applies to disc 2 bc SILY is a straight 100, but i love this as a standalone remix album. loadsa variety which perfectly showcases the diversity of inspiration this album both had and has given. there's an alternate version of this that could have been very boring but throwing in some curveballs like deakin and black dice alongside absolutely perfect submissions from cornelius and DOOM... it's a great listen. only wish they'd cover more songs !!! ah well save that for the 30th

seems i'm in the minority here but i think this is incredible ! my feeling with 'half-light' was that there was a great album in there bogged down with too much filler and 'changephobia' completely cuts the fat. the first half especially is back to back hits for me. we've seen his production soar with the clairo and HAIM albums and i love what he does with his own voice, it's very earnest and a little corny but he really knows how to write a hook !!! he's not much of a lyricist but in terms of ... read more

always at least a handful of great moments on any drake album, the opener on this one is incredible, as is “pain 1993”, then they are fleeting elsewhere. more interesting than scorpion tho

bounces from being stunningly good songwriting which paul always makes seem effortless, to being kinda actually lazy and a little cringe at times. regardless, it’s a good time

there’s something really loveable about this album, no big hits really, elton and bernie seem like they’re having fun, and it has “my father’s gun” which is one his best songs hands down

not as intricately crafted as his best work but it's fun to hear him mess around with some different sounds
