Very subdued, but intriguing at the same time. The atmosphere of this album is phenomenal. The darkness of it is the perfect template for the minimalistic production and most of the songs have a foreboding feeling to them that pulls you in. The distorted vocals work marvelously, as well. Billie Eilish centered herself very well with this debut, choosing to focus on one certain sound so she doesn't get caught up in experimenting too much. Some inclusions feel like missteps, however, especially ''8'', which features an extremely grating baby voice. Other examples are simply not too engaging. Also, she's obviously a bit of an edgelord on this album, but... who cares?
