No clue what they are talking about.
This album has grown on me a lot since I originally reviewed it, which is crazy because I had this at 95, but the album just keeps getting better and better with each listen. The album is layers upon layers of the best fusion of genres I've ever heard. The intricacy of IDM with the rawness of shoegaze is a perfect match here. Even the slower tracks like 'International' are full of cool details and unique ideas. It's almost inspiring how ... read more
After listening to pretty much all of Yeule's discography and being in love with it, following their album "Softscars" a couple of years ago, I was really excited to listen to this new album. Having let it cook for a while, I think that while it is a pretty fun and catchy experience, Evangelic Girl is a Gun lacks punch in comparison with their other albums for me.
There are some really fun songs like Eko and Dudu that have a dreamy vibe that I loved. The title track was easily ... read more
Really took me a while to process this whole album.
By Storm's ""debut"" album has really blown me away these past couple of months. When it came out, I didn't have a clear idea of what to expect from this duo, even after hearing "By The Time I Get to Phoenix" and "Double Trio" (which I love a lot), but after listening to it I had a hard time really putting together how I felt about the album. I was kind of blown away by it. It's such a ... read more
Eh... I mean, Strictly 4 The Scythe is a perfectly fine mixtape, but I just don't think anything particularly stands out. There are a couple of great songs, mainly "LIT EFFECT" and "PHONY", which had great features on them. Aside from Denzel, BKTHERULA and A$AP Ferg had the best performances personally and there were a few boring features from Luh Tyler or Rich The Kid. The production is also nice, but again, nothing crazy that really makes me want to constantly revisit ... read more
Came for the beautiful cover, didn't expect it to be a new glass beach release (kinda).
First time listening to J's solo work and I'm honestly a bit surprised at how good "it's fine to dream" is, especially considering that I'm, surprisingly, not that big of a fan of emo-pop or power-pop. When I listened to it for the first time I actually didn't like this album all that much, but it just keeps growing on me the more listens I give it. The instrumentals ... read more
Been a while since I last listened to anything related to punk and Entertainment by Gang of Four kinda ignited that punk spark again.
This album is the very definition of a tight listen. It's 12 tracks and 40 minutes of pure post-punk fun with a couple of sick bangers like the intro "Ether" or "Damaged Goods". I really enjoyed this album a lot, even if I do think it can get a little boring in the second half, and the overall sound not leaving that strong of an ... read more
