Possibly the most emotionally charged album Blur have and will ever write, 13 is a fantastic journey through both the band's internal hardships and Albarn's personal problems, expressed through experimental and visceral audio landscapes. The opening track sets up a theme of hope, only to be grounded down and mushed by tracks such as Swamp Song, Battle, Mellow Song and the penultimate No Distance Left to Run.
Also, Optigan 1 is one of the best closers I have ever heard, it feels like ... read more
Not as flat as one would assume from these reviews. Some fantastic performances on here, mostly from Bonham.
easily the most complete collection of songs, masterfully written, engineered and performed.
exit does not exist is a fantastic reworking, but this project falls flat mostly compared to marks other work. Perhaps then its a me problem
fantastic production and songwriting.
Fantastic and smooth. Michael Franks songwriting is sublime, his voice is very convincing. Crossfire offer a unique liquidity to this performance. Both performances of 'The Lady Wants to Know' and 'Monkey See Monkey Do' are particularly interesting.

The Free Design's sophomore release is pleasantly littered with intricate musical compositions, including experimental layers of orchestral and contemporary sound, curious lyricism and the delightfully cathartic vocal harmony present as an auteur-like stamp on their discography. Their musical knowledge and chemistry shine through on tracks such as the title opening track 'You Could Be Born Again', 'A Leaf Has Veins', ... read more
There is a consistent nagging from the mouths of stone island wannabe non-league football hooligans that paints this album as terrible because it doesn't offer the same teenage energy as their earlier albums. If you are outside of that bubble, I am grateful for you. This project is superb, with a visionary change in style and composition that impresses and pushes the band ... read more
An intense collection of songs. Intimate, musically intricate and touching. Love love love
Amazing ep. Do not sleep on this band, saw them in London and they were amazing
