What can I say about 'Marquee Moon' that hasn't been said already? It's a record that was ahead of its time, it would lay out the blueprints and give way to what we know as Art Punk and Post-Punk. But without that context in mind Television really did something special with this album and it's pure fun, the riffs are memorable and catchy, the guitar work in general is fantastic, the drumming is stellar, the basslines are so crisp and fun to listen to, and Tom Verlaine's vocals are honestly quite fun and really stand out. His vocals also sound like they inspired many that came after it, names that come to mind when listening to his style of singing are David Byrne no soon after and Julian Casablancas far into the 2000's. So yeah, creative, invigorating, and fun, what more needs to be said?
