Miles Davis - In a Silent Way

'In a Silent Way' is another interesting experiment from Miles Davis and a Jazz record unlike anything that came out during its time, so much so that it doesn't even feel like I'm listening to a Jazz record at times. The two compositions on here see Miles incorporating more electronics to the jazz aesthetic, with that we get sections of.... well.... ambient music, weird thing to say when talking about a Jazz album but hey, this is Miles Davis we're talking about here. We also see elements of post-rock being brought into the mix with a lot more guitar based sections being more prevalent. These fusions create an interesting atmosphere, creative compositions and make this one of the most interesting records to come from Miles Davis' catalogue, it's certainly one of my favourites from him anyway.
