The Legend of the Butterfly Lovers violin concerto premiered in 1959 at the Lyceum Theatre in Shanghai conducted by Fan Chengwu with solos by Yu Lina. This show was a 10th anniversary celebration of the founding of the PR of China. The 25 minute performance is broken into seven sections starting with adagio cantabile and allegro and ending with presto resoluto and adagio cantabile.
