Jeff Buckley - Grace
97

This album has some of the best songs I've heard in my life. Jeff Buckley seems to sneak into your veins until he reaches your heart and soul, and stays deep within you long after the song is over. Before I heard this album completely, I always assumed Grace referred to a person, a woman's name, and not the noun itself. Realizing that it is actually grace as a noun that gives the album its name adds a whole new depth to the record. Themes of death are constant throughout the work, and ... read more

The Cranberries - Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?
96

This album is deeply characterized by Dolores’ vocal range and emotional performance. She is definitely the star of the show. The lyrics, although profound and mesmerizing, are not even necessary for the listener to get in the mood. She could just be making sound throughout the whole record and it would still be groundbreaking because of how talented she was.

The mixing is part of this too, as it keeps building without necessarily driving us into the drop we usually expect. I think this ... read more

Finn Wolfhard - Happy Birthday

I wish I had liked this album more. This is a style I'm usually into, the sound in general is good and something that I could enjoy. His voice, I believe, is really good for this type of music, it just fits with the indie vibe. However, the record was underwhlemming, it feels as if he had a clear concept of what he wanted to convey but fell short on it and wasn't truly able to express all of it. I liked Objection! and Choose the latter the most out of all the songs.

Olivia Dean - The Art of Loving
93

The art of loving is… I cannot think of a word good enough to encapsulate the feeling this record transmits. It’s laying on the sand on a sunny day, the warm feeling on your skin that isn’t suffocating at all, just pleasant. Like being tipsy on a night out with friends, laughing about anything and everything and knowing you can just dive into the moment and forget anything else. It’s warm in a way that comes from deep within the soul. Just like love, this album ... read more

Conan Gray - Wishbone
84

The album gives insight into a relationship that, even if already finished, hasn’t really ended. Conan shares his experience of a (toxic) relationship he can’t really get over: he goes from wanting to end it but missing him, to wanting him back, to saying he doesn’t care, to admitting he’s still stuck on them, to acknowledging that the relationship was toxic and bad for him but feeling as if he deserves it. All these ups and downs through the break up seem to be mirrored ... read more

Djo - The Crux
92

I had heard many of these songs by themselves, liked them, but never made the time to listen to the record as a whole. After doing so I can say that they gain more depth. It’s a great listen: catchy, fun, introspective, all in one. Djo has gained a lot of popularity recently and I think this album also shows the growth in his work. There’s no fade in or fade out in the songs, yet they transition one into the other seamlessly, even if they have completely different vibes.

The album ... read more

HAIM - I quit
74

I don’t know why everyone keeps saying it's boring. I actually find it quite new and fresh. I really enjoyed the instrumentals and production, thought it had fun lyrics (though maybe a little too repetitive at times), and their voices sounded smooth, contrasting satisfyingly with the chaotic pace of the instruments.

The guitar solos and instrumentals were so good to listen to and felt natural within the songs. Whenever a track started to feel like it was dragging on, there would be ... read more

Lorde - Virgin
81

I was so scared of not liking this project. Even though many people hated on Solar Power because it was so different from her usual sound, I didn’t feel the same way. However, with everything Lorde was saying leading up to the release, about the writing and producing of the album, I was worried about what it might be like.
After listening to the first single, What Was That, those doubts went away. I really enjoyed the production and catchy lyrics, it was a great song. I think Lorde has ... read more

Tiny Habits - All For Something
69

It's a pretty nice listen for when you want a calm sound. The strongest point of this album are the vocals, the harmonies in each of the songs, even the ones I didn't like so much, were beautiful through and through. I love how, throughout the album, all of the songs seem to go back to the theme of Circling that is presented in the opening track, this feeling of being in a constant cycle in a relationship and not being able to get out of it. Although I really liked how the album ... read more

Halsey - The Great Impersonator
78

“The Great Impersonator” allows us to get an understanding of what Halsey was thinking and feeling while battling with lupus. While many have criticized her choice of sharing her experience through inspiration and “imitation” of other artists, I did like the concept a lot and think she nailed each of the impersonations, she did a really good job of encapsulating the vibe of the artists she took inspiration from (however, there are some artists I haven’t heard like ... read more

Wallows - Model
69

Although I liked this album I think both of their previous ones are better. I did like a lot how it seems to revolve around one concept and how the themes of each song flow in a way that makes the whole record feel almost like a story even if they are about the experiences of different band members or different situations. The production is quite good in some of the songs, I really liked how the guitar seemed to be singing with them, how well it fitted into the songs' rythm. In "Bad ... read more

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT
93

Ok so Im like 4 months late but finally I got time to really listen to it and wo!. Of course I had listened to many of the songs before because well they were everywhere so, hard to avoid, specially when they are good and you do not wanna skip them. It's great from start to finish, I really don't think it's even necessary at this point to say how beautiful billie's voice is, and her and FINNEAS make a great team which shows a lot in the songs. So, Im too lazy to write a ... read more

Alec Benjamin - 12 Notes
54

It's not bad, it's just worse than his previous releases. I don't know if my taste just changed or if he just evolved backwards? The sounds are still the same vibe from before, with more synth that instead of helping him improve caused, in my opinion, the opositte effect. And his lyrics that I used to consider as one of his stronger points, now just seem bland and nothing special. Having said all that, I still think it's a good album to listen to when you want something ... read more

Ber - Room For You

fun and simple but still really good

Dominic Fike - 14 minutes

Before this ep I thought that everything dominic fike made was great and always a vibe. I stand corrected.

WILLOW - empathogen
78

The harmonies in her vocals and how it clashes against the drums and guitars (and whatever else is in there) make this album's sound unique and whimsical. Although we already knew how good her voice is from her previous works, it is specially magical in this record. Her style has always seem experimental in my opinion, or at least not as mainstream and usual, but in "empathogen" she was able to dive even deepper into untested waters.
Even though I think it's really good, at ... read more

Dua Lipa - Radical Optimism
67

In her desire to approach a wide range of styles and cultures into the album, she seems to have fallen short and achieved little overall. The album is good and I liked it. The singles are definitely the better songs of it and though there’s a cohesion between them i don’t seem to find this consistency in the rest of the record. They seem to be all over the place and at the same time not so different between one another (which i know doesn't make sense).
I feel like her travels ... read more

Luke Hemmings - boy
76

I wish this had more songs and that he could've turn it into an album. I would not say 'boy' is better than his previous work as I prefer the production in the album more than this one, but maybe this would've changed if I got to hear more songs and variety. The lyrics in this EP are, if possible, even more introspective and personal than what he wrote before. This, combined with Luke's signature style in production and his great vocal power, make it stand out. Also, ... read more

Maggie Rogers - Don't Forget Me
69

Maggie starts the album with a deeply nostalgic track that sets the tone for what is coming in the rest of the record. She sings about growing up, or more specifically about the realization of time having passed by without one noticing they were growing older, and about a past relationship and the desire to find a new lover (someone that will stick by her side). While some of the tracks were really good like 'It was coming all along', 'the kill', and 'don't forget ... read more

Phoebe Bridgers - Punisher
94

Okokok, I don't even... this is sooo good. I had obviously heard it before and liked it, loved it even, but I think I had never really LISTENED to it with as much attention as I just did. The whole concept of the album is great. Every second of song I heard and every lyric I read was breathtaking. Phoebe tells a bunch of stories throughout this album and does an amazing job in doing so. Her songwriting is impeccable and seems to favor a stream of consciousness that allows the songs to be ... read more
