This is my 100th review on this site and I wanted to talk about a record that I think is an absolute masterpiece and is honestly one of the greatest works of art ever conceived, I want to talk about Donuts by J Dilla.

So right of the bat I need to express that I usually like to evaluate an album as it's own work but Donuts is one of the few exceptions where I feel it is important to know the story of the records conception to better understand it as it doesn't really have real lyrics on it. ... read more

This is where Wilco became Wilco. After their decent but rather generic debut Tweedy and the boys went all out for the sophomore record creating a sprawling double album with far more depth and technique than ever before. Whilst A.M. was a country record with hints of Alt Rock, Being There is an Alt Rock record with hints of country. It still feels very American in style but it is quite the change. Tweedy's writing on here feels more heartfelt and emotional carrying far more depth. The ... read more

Die Lit is an absolutely peculiar record. It's an album where a flawed artist plays only to his strengths, a record where one singular idea is embraced through and through. Playboi Carti has essentially captured the essence of trap music on Die Lit. The lyrics are trash there no cohesion at all or meaning to it for that matter, what there is however is bangers. Carti knows he can't write so he makes a record that's essentially embracing how stupid it is and in turn focuses entirely on being ... read more

The debut album of Wilco is a record that showed a lot of promise for the band. A.M. is by no means of the quality of the bands later records, but it is a decent record. A.M. is a Country album with slight alternative rock elements sprinkled on top. The band had yet to find their signature sound and on here that is clear. Jeff isn't using his voice to it's full effect and vocals are just meh on here. The acoustics and slide guitars make up the bulk of this record. the instrumentation ranges ... read more

Australian rocker Courtney Barnett returns with a great emotionally charged new record. Courtney sings with emotion, power and conviction whilst keeping it cool, the lyricism is straight forward and a joy to hear. The instrumentals have sick and raw tones with garage rock guitars that still come across as tuneful and catchy. Tell Me How You Really Feel is straight to the point and bogged down to it's essentials.

Hey I noticed your heavy interest in the Pumpkins and I suggest you check out You’re Living All Over Me by Dinosaur Jr., J Mascis’ guitar work on that album is crazy and would definitely interest you.

New Smashing Pumpkins record is out today so might just review their entire discography along with it. Well maybe except for Machina II as it ain't on my streaming services and I don't really wanna go through the effort to listen to that one
