Has a pretty strong first half but really does get boring in the second. I can't say there was a moment I didn't outright dislike on here. The whole album has this pretty chill atmosphere I really vibed with.
That said, if I want chill vibes, I'll just go listen to Song Machine.
Really goddamn fun. The features do overshadow the band quite a bit, but I can't say that's too much of an issue, as nearly every feature on here owned it.
Back to the Gorillaz discog dive. The Fall and Humanz sucked so bad I needed a break.
It's okay, which is to say a massive step up from the last two. The strength of the album isn't really the quality of its songs, but more so the vibe the whole project has. It's a real pretty, chill album that you can put on as background noise and enjoy.
There's nothing inherently wrong with that, but it does make and album that's less memorable than what the fellas have made before.
My first album by the band. the fact they've been doing this for 30 years and they're still this aggressive and brutal is nuts.
Really fun album that is filled with a lot of nasty riffs, bass lines, vocals and solos. The solos are especially great, and it's an aspect that really helps stand out.
Really not much else to say here. It's neat, and I think I'm only going to eat plant-based products for the rest of the day.
My favorite aspect of punk music is that the harsher it gets, the more the band members look like absolute fucking nerds. That's alright though, Milo looks like a cool dude.
You know, this is the first time I've listen to this album (and the band for that matter), but I get heavy nostalgia listening to this. Maybe it's because I've played a lot of skating games on the PS2 at my grandma's house, and similar music would be playing as I ate shit while trying to do an ... read more
Really wonderful and eerie project. It's beautiful, but also really unhinged and unnerving.
It's a side of The Weeknd I haven't seen before, but I really like it. Even though I'm more of a fan of the lush sound of his more recent releases, this is still really captivating stuff.
Massive step up from The Melodic Blue. Biggest improvement here is Keem's voice, as his singing and rapping is so much smoother and isn't annoying like it was on his previous album.
The track list is a bit hit or miss with me, with Good Flirts being a MASSIVE miss for me, but there are some real hits as well. I really love No Blame especially.
He most certainly has room to grow, but he still made a pretty good album here with some damn good songs.
People be like, "Art is meant to comfort the disturbed and disturb the comforted, except when I'm disturbed then it doesn't count as real art."
As someone who is a metal fan, I see this happen a lot, especially when it comes to the more extreme side of the genre with gore-filled album covers, lyrics and harsh vocals and music. People, even snobby music 'fans' who claim they listen to everything, go the other fucking direction when dealing with something that is ... read more
Thanks to @HomeSession3 for the recommendation! No Way I was going to find this otherwise.
This album is really cool. Love the vocals a whole lot, especially how she went back and forth between speaking English and Italian, as whatever language she spoke really set the mood for how evil the song sounded.
Instrumentals are also real nice and moody. The additions of the horns were especially neat, as they shouldn't work on paper, but ended up being a real nice addition that fleshed out the ... read more
I appreciate that the main project itself is only about 24 minutes, because it makes the generic aspect of this less of an issue.
If this was like actually 50 minutes, then I would be a lot bitchier in this review, but to be fair, the album does sound good and is really fun. The vocals are nuts, the drops and chugs are beefy, and the everything else is reliably decent.
It's not very memorable or original, but it is fun, and that's good enough for me.
The album cover looks like she is about to cast that apple straight to my face like a fireball. Maybe it's like a reenactment of Eve and the snake, though this time Eve has hands and knows the snake is a punk bitch.
This album is the musical equivalent to that scene in Gravity Falls where the gnome pukes rainbows for 20-30 seconds straight. It's so sweet and whimsical to a sickening degree. It's really fun, but to a point I do begin to get a bit tired of it.
I'm the champion that you can absolutely enjoy soundtracks without the context of the media it is attached to. However, this might be an example where you need the context of the media to make it better (though I hear the movie isn't all that, so I don't know what to think).
House and Chains of Love are the easy highlights on here, as they are the most interesting songs on here. House especially is so fucking eerie and really caught me off guard, but I really enjoyed it.

Guys can I be vulnerable for a moment? I found this album on Twitter after it was recommended by a gay porn account. Please, do NOT ask me how I found myself there.
Anyways, this is awesome. It's the soundtrack to a wizard and his minions plotting to destroy every cybertruck in existence and looking insanely cool while doing it.
It's that evil wizard black metal we all know and love, but the guitars are absolutely insane. The solos on here are CRAZY.
Is it the most creative thing ... read more
Actual timeless production on here. For an album that came out in the early 90's, this thing sounds absolutely insane. If this thing is blowing people's minds nowadays, imagine what it was like to first hear this in 1994.
Major highlight are Beth Gibbons' vocals. They are ethereal. I love them so much and really hammers home this dark and melancholic feel the whole album has.
I don't think I've heard another album highlight the wonders the evolution of technology has ... read more
It's not perfect by any means, as it does buckle under its own weight a bit. 101 minutes is a LOT and not all of it lands, especially the features.
However, this is by far the best project I've heard from Cole and really seems to be the album he was destined to make. Everything from song structure, lyrics and overall vibe is dramatically improved here over his other projects.
Disc39 is especially great, as it really feels like everything coming together to create a central, dynamic ... read more
I appreciate that Cole went into this trying to make a project focused more on making well-crafted bangers. However, even though I found some enjoyment here, even more so than 2014, it's still kind of generic.
I do like the features a lot, and every time they appeared it really felt like the album was being elevated into something more unique and memorable. Still, I feel like I'm going to have a hard time remembering a good chunk of this album, even if there were plenty of things I ... read more
What the actual fuck dude. This album sounds like I'm about to square up with Count Orlok at his crib.
The guitar work is actually perfect. The amount of God tier riffs and solos in this thing is insane. From clean, calming riffs, to the shreddiest of solos, they all hit just right.
Even outside of that, there are some great stuff here. The synth work, even if it is goofy at times, really heightens the experience by adding a real heavy gothic vibe to everything. There also some moments ... read more
I got this album on vinyl today and it's one of those thick ass disks with the liquid inside, and it looks like blood! It's really neat! I'm also really poor now, but it was worth it!
Pretty much a modern classic at this point, and one of the most essential metal records of the decade so far. It's oozing with creativity while still sticking to its roots of being a real kick-ass metal record.
The way each song moves is really cool. You get a whole lot of different stuff, ... read more
I'm getting no sleep and permanent hearing damage tonight!
I had full faith that I would love this, and I was proven right. Converge has been in the game for over 30 years, and they continue to sound vicious and violent with each new release.
The first half is wonderfully intense, with some real heaters like Distract and Divide, and To Feel Something. Classic punch-you-in-the-jaw energy from the band and it sounds as great as ever.
You also got some great sludgy stuff in here as well. ... read more
You know how in video games when you enter a new area, an ambient song plays while you are in that area until you go onto the next area? Yeah, this is what would play if you ended up in Marseille.
Really banging project by these weirdos. I especially love the back half, where the really heavy-hitting bangers are like ist halt so, Sicko! and Cursive are. Those are easily my favorite songs on the album.
I found the first half a bit harder to get into, probably because its harsher and more ... read more
