Flashback to late 2016. Things started to change a lot in my life and I've gained a lot of free time that I didn't know what to do with. Fortunately my favorite band Linkin Park was about the drop a new album and I spend a lot of time following their updated and reading interviews. One of them had Mike Shinoda mentioned some people that he has worked with, one of listed was Corin Roddick. I was like why not so I checked the stuff from all those names, but nothing really interested me. Until I ... read more

Now we fucking talking, the first amazing discovery of the year for me and I've been playing this record literally non-stop. This album is just EPIC from start to finish, like damn can't even believe this is their first release ever. It sounds so perfectly done: everything from the super catchy and emotional vocals, the huge djenty guitars and the fresh electronic and ambient influence (those synth solos tho!) is basically everything I love about this genre. I've lost a lot of respect for Mike Shinoda for letting this happen.

Damn this record is one of a kind. Except the the title track I couldn't get into the whole thing, but thank god I kept an eye on it because it was so worth when it finally clicked. Everything sounds so fresh and unique and technically is mindblowing even for prog metal standards. Also I love the repeating motifs which are present in almost every song, really tie everything together. Definitely one of my favorite bands now.

Ok, while I still think that Dan Tompkins is by far the best vocalist for this band I need to admit that this album is amazing too. It has grown on me so much, especially the guitar and bass tone are so unique and addicting makes a lot of other stuff sounding super dull in comparison.
Though I still feel like many tracks drag, but as a whole is just damn good music.
Favorites: Nocturne, Eclipse, Proxy and Calabi-Yau.

This album is consistently good and enjoyable but I feel like it lacks something that will make it amazing like HOLV and Treasure.
Favorites: Athol-Brose (by far the best song), Carolyn's Fingers, Blue Bell Knoll and Cico Buff.
