I learned about the drones from frontman Garreth Lidiards next project, Tropical Fuck Storm, which is absolutely fire, and so, I checked out the drones for hopefully something similar. What I got was something better. This is undoubtedly the drones' experimental post-post-art-punk rock magnum opus. It comes in at a tight 40 minutes, and not a second is wasted. Private Execution is a super fucked up song about what can only be described as a lust for suicide. ... read more
Black Country, New Road is one of the most interesting rock bands to come out of the decade so far, and their debut is my second favorite album from them. Standing at a relatively short 40 minutes yet having only 6 songs on it, the album is a chilling and blunt portrayal of anxiety. The Instrumental that starts the record off is pretty simple in it's progression, but it demonstrates just how good the band are at tension and release, as the song builds itself up to ... read more

It's atmospheric and simple, calming and is fantastic background music for really anything, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Two thumbs up from this guy.

'meatspace' as described by garreth liddiard (lead singer of the band), is what silicone valley types ... read more
Like a Paper Plane is the latest project from 2 0 2 1, a breakcore artist whom I discovered on the new releases page, and it's a really fun listen. The project takes samples and builds them up and down with different instrumentation in a post-rocky sorta fashion. I think that through this, 2021 manages to make some really beautiful music, capturing feelings of hopefulness and bliss on the way. Some of these songs are pretty long, and I feel that combined with the repetitive nature ... read more
