"It's that falcon again. Is it following us, or are we following it?"
You escaped your Cabal-ravaged home, scrambling to your feet, walking alone toward a snow summit past the remains of the Lightless, or the deceased.
You picked up Sorrow MG2 from them, fighting through Cabal reinforcements while wandering aimlessly through the waste.
That was until you encountered the falcon that guided us, and discovered a sanctuary on Earth yet untouched by the enemy's hand.

Daughter - Not To Disappear
100

I finally feel like writing a long review for "Not To Disappear", as this is my favorite album of all time, yeah, probably the only one that I will continue cherishing no matter what.
I'll touch on every song, though not necessarily the lyrics (maybe quoting them occasionally) or the musical aspects every time. Also, since I'm not a music professional, my descriptions of the musical parts might seem a bit awkward. But what I want to convey is that every song on this album ... read more

Ren Sekigahara - In Ruins

The mixing sounds not good for me, maybe it's intended idk, just not the type of shoegaze album I want to return to.

Conrad Graham - Luminous Youth
85

Thanks @Conrad for the recommendation!
While this album still delivers similar electronic soundscape form the previous album "Sundog", I actually adore "Luminous Youth" more for it embracing spacy vibe that I really enjoy, especially the ambient parts.
Overall, it’s a clear progression from the last album!

Adam Snebold - I Hear A New World
85

I usually have low interest in checking out hip hop or rap related sutff, but man this is really a good and consistent album that I've enjoyed way more than I've expected.

Mydreamfever - 6. Noise Is the New Silence
70

I appreciate the idea, but this straight up not something I wanna return to.

Maria BC - Marathon
95

Compared to the previous record, it feels like the vocals here were intentionally processed to be more hazy.
The instrumentation sometimes washes over the vocals, turning the singing into more of a texture or layer thing, while the singer's voice is naturally so otherworldly, giving the whole thing an incredibly ethereal vibe.
This certainly creates a psychedelic illusion of slowly sinking. Yet, the vocals occasionally push through and stand out a bit more, as if engaged in a tug of war ... read more

崔健 [Cui Jian] - 红旗下的蛋 (Balls Under the Red Flag)
90

Though I speak Chinese, I can barely understand what he’s singing about, lmao.
That aside, this album is a fantastic blend of jazz rock and traditional Chinese instruments, creating a diverse sound that I really enjoy.

東京酒吐座 [Tokyo Shoegazer] - Remains
90

IMO the heaviest sound and atmosphere they have created in thier discography, which totally reflect the album cover and what it would sound like, guys they still have it.

My New Band Believe - My New Band Believe
95

Unexpected but in a GOOD WAY.
Just kinda a shame that other singles couldn't make it to the album, though I totally understand it after listening to the album.

Junior Brother - Pull The Right Rope
95

Pretty good and uplifting prog folk, I really enjoy this!

RAYE - THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE.
80

Loving the first half of the album, however the second half (starting from Act III) become boring and dry, with only "Nightingale Lane." and "WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!" catching my attention.
It's not that the other songs from the second half is bad or what, I just think RAYE could really use some thoughtful rearrangement of the tracklist, and maybe trimming it down a bit.

Hannah Frances - Keeper Of The Shepherd

I don't know, this woman just can't make bad music but masterpiece at all.
I'm so glad I have accidentally bumped into this album and the artist.

Anthony Gamazo - Hollow

Recommeded by @bittersweetidal
The vocal kinda drags for me or simply just not my thing, but other than that the production is overall great, I still enjoyed some parts of this album!!
Picks: Rosemary, Hypochondriac, Halloween

Loreen - Ride
95

I actually didn't expect Loreen doing music like this, but god isn't it so beautifully crafted?
This kind of sound just suit her voice so much better.

Jessica Bailiff - Even in Silence
95

Jefre Cantu-Ledesma - Love Is a Stream
100

The dense, heavily layered wall of sound stirs up countless turbulent waves within Love Is A Stream.

Drone music always has an astonishing charm: it can be dark and frigid, tranquil and organic, or, much like Love Is A Stream, exceptionally gentle and warm.

The use of massive noise is designed to create a more expansive atmosphere, or perhaps a parallel universe; the opening tracks even genuinely feel as though the world is undergoing the very process of creation. Within this sonic space, ... read more

Dua Lipa - Radical Optimism

Houdini and Training Season should have defined the album’s main sound instead of the other summer vibe tracks.
That being said, I still enjoy most of the songs, but it’s frustrating knowing the album could have gone further—the direction felt perfect when Houdini and Training Season were released as singles.

Nessa Barrett - Jesus loves a primadonna
90

Ok let's be for real, I really LOVE the production despite the lyrics are kinda meh or toxic, for me her sound is somewhat an instrumental texture to the songs, so yeah I still fw this EP.
I get the Ultraviolence comparison, well yes the heaviness is certainly similar, but I don't think the atmosphere created is the same.
For Nessa this EP is definitely a big improvement from the last LP.
