In my opinion, Ed Sheeran is one of the most talented artists of his generation and I thought his earlier albums were very good, especially X.
But this new record is really disappointing. It’s just a mess of overproduced and bland pop songs. There’s nothing really charming about the tracks, and the featured artists rarely bring something interesting to them. Feel passionless, feel mediocre.
Best tracks: Beautiful People, Best Part of Me, I Don’t Care
I can't hold it against the band to not be able to make a record as great as their debut album, as they have gain in maturity and experience since. It's an interesting musical experience, but I just can't personally get into their new stuff.
18 tracks is a lot of tracks, and for this album, it's maybe a little too much. It would have gain in quality if it was shorter. There are some good, fun and catchy songs, as there are forgettable and bland ones. Not a bad record though, I had fun listening to it.
Favorite : 2021 / Jerusalem, New York, Berlin
Least : Married in a Gold Rush
A decent Weezer record. Obviously, it’s more pop than rock, but it works as a pop album. The first half is great (with the exception of Living In LA). The second half is weaker, although it contains very fun and catchy moments.
Not their best record but nothing to be ashamed of, honestly.
Favorite : High as a Kite, The Prince Who Wanted Everything
