Djo + Far Caspian = A crazy amazing song. Many twists and turns, but all feel earned??
Paler than its successor, yet still undeniably beautiful and strong on its own. It's fearless tendency to make relatively strange choices gives it a very playful texture that's distinct, especially when compared to its heir.
Second only to Trench, this is a strange project that manages to breach past its massive expectations in some fantastic ways.
This hit like hot chocolate in the dark of winter, like your spirit moving with the city when the air is cool, like the feeling of belonging with nature while the wind keeps you company.
Sometimes you gotta fight back/through the hard times and bad places; sometimes music is a through-line that helps you, as you put on an amazing drum show even when no one is watching...
Also, Josh's vocals are heavenly.
Beauty and intensity meet, and they do not leave. Lives up to its name wonderfully.
There's a lot of peace in these songs and their simple, warm momentum.
I wanted so badly to love this so much more...
