The second single released off of Joshua Bassett's debut EP has improved songwriting, vocal deliveries, and as always, a satisfying production. From beginning to end, the 20-year-old singer/songwriter captivates the ears with a stunning melody and a creative vision. The song, in my personal opinion, isn't solid enough to be put on repeat, but it is great for a few listens every now and then (preferably on a sunny/windy day while sitting outdoors). It's a nice, calming track that has no "forced" vocals, which is not only perfect for my ears but is also a positive for Bassett's range. Lastly, I wouldn't mind a slight renovation on the overall production, but for now, the final result is quite fine.
I think "Only a Matter of Time" might probably be his most outstanding work to date. It sure isn't revolutionary but why be the greatest when you can just be great? <3
