OK was fine but I love that this band is returning to having different sections and phases to their music again. The music itself is also a lot more interesting on here compared to the more simplistic guitar work on OK.
One thing I really liked was that Thomas's vocals also fit pretty well on this track, especially the slower and much more calmer section of the song. Thomas uses a less sarcastic tone compared to his previous singing style for a more clear and low key sound. This works a lot ... read more
Rivers ain't even rapping, but he's sure spittin' straight bars on this track.
This song has some really nice vocals. If that synth line on this song was removed I would like this track a lot more.
Fellas, fellas, is chicken vegan?
THIS, ALBUM, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!!!
Billy Cobb is back at it again with his heavily Weezer inspired project Zerwee with Zerwee. pt 2, and it’s even better than the last entry. This album continues the Weezer sound but with a little bit more of Billy’s sound and personality in general can be found on this project. This can be found in the form of his mentioning of Barg’N-Mart in the song “The Barg’N-Mart” (damn shawty, didn’t see that one coming) which is a ... read more
Wowza, this shit cums. I really love music that goes for the most heavy and extreme sounds that it can create. It’s always been a great way of expressing the resistance, frustration, or flat out rage the artist is feeling. And Today is the Day does that exact thing with their album Supernova.
Sonically this album is quite aggressive with it’s crunchy guitars that feel like they’re constantly booming out at the listener, and the screaming vocals that sound taunting and evil ... read more
This EP is pretty sweet. I really like the piano on the first two tracks called "My eyes are going anyway" and "I-Thought-you-said". It's really calming yet at the same time emotionally charged, this with the jazzy sounding drums compliments the hard hitting lyrics on this album.
This album explores many topics in it's lyrics like miscarriage, death, and I pretty sure Manipulation on the track "STAAR"(don't quote me on that). These lyrics delivered with Nat's ... read more
This album is fairly decent. It's definitely a lot more alt rock compared to the albums they would put out it in the future, this allows for more softer songs and more importantly cleaner vocals from J. Robbins. For example, songs like "Paint Out the Light" and "Consolation Prize" have very emotionally charged and sweet vocal melodies that make the songs hit super hard.
This album also has some cool musical moments as well. The constant soft and loud dynamic on ... read more
The drums are fire as always, but those grimy synth parts are what really elevate this track for me. Fire shit dude
Billy Cobb captures the sound of weezer super well on this EP. And even does it better than Weezer is doing it right now, which is honestly quite depressing. But at the very least Billy Cobb has given us another chance to experience all of the great parts of Weezer.
This album draws a lot of influences from Pinkerton with it's pitchy synths, and white album with it's fun nature along with good vibes. There's also specific things taken from other Weezer albums like the vocal part on "O ... read more
This is really cool. I don’t usually listen to this kind of hip hop instrumental stuff, but I definitely enjoyed this track from Bvrtxk.
unceasing_dismay is one of those songs that you just fall into and get lost in. And I for one can definitely say I got entranced by this.
This song’s length is also pretty justified because of the many switch ups it goes through which are transitioned between super well I’ll add). And out of all of these switch ups my favorite would ... read more
I’ve been a fan of WOHO since The Prettiest Boys in Town dropped. And ever since then I’ve really enjoyed the new sounds that were tried out throughout WOHO’s discography. And I especially love the noise pop on SevenEighteen, which was my favorite album from the artist before this album dropped.
Withering (Or, Song of Yore) brings a much more folky sound that I think complements WOHO’s sound the best out of all of the genres that were tried before hand. The lush ... read more
Cool garage rock bro, sorry for dropping our Lucy stuff in the same week :/.
