Untourable Album may not have as many standout tracks as Oncle Jazz, but this project gives the listener a soft and levitating experience unlike any other.
Men I Trust are a band you can trust to make good bedroom pop, haha. No but seriously their music is very comforting like a warm blanket in the winter, and this album here is no exception. Untourable Album sees the band focusing more on heavier reverb and even softer songs than Oncle Jazz, that gives this project a very soothing aura. This ... read more
The Money Store really challenged my ears to very experimental hip hop album that has widened my perception of a lot more music.
One of the most important rap albums that popularised industrial hip hop and has influenced many artists since its release. The very unique ways samples are manipulated on the project is impressive, and the grand distortion is really in your face. Every member deserves their flowers for the separate performances all across the album, heavy and driving drums paired ... read more
Tyler delivers a refined hip hop album that incorporates splashes of jazz instrumentation throughout the whole project.
Opening your album by sampling a Westside Gunn track is the best way to get my attention. The braggadocious attitude Tyler brings on CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST is a refreshing new side we haven't really explored lyrically, and finally being able to travel, Tyler expands both lyrically and sonically to tropical new vibes like "I THOUGHT YOU WANTED TO DANCE". This album ... read more
IGOR is truly Tylers magnum opus and lightning in a bottle moment. The nuanced, detailed and diverse instrumentals places this album in a special spot in your ears while listening to the album.
I need to give Tyler his flowers for making an album that executes its concept to the max, with emotion flowing through every word he udders. The very pop alike song structures on IGOR really work well with the genre bending sound, for example songs like "I THINK", "EARFQUAKE" AND ... read more
Comparing this album to Bastard is mind blowing. Tyler delivers his most smooth album yet, expanding on the themes explored on Cherry Bomb, and improving it with great performances and perfect mixing.
This album cleanses your soul and takes you for a ride through the music of Flower Boy, with the album cover really representing the music in the best way ever. This album contains a lot of catchy hooks, revealing verses and so much detailed production, which I think is the highlight of this ... read more
Tyler, The Creators Cherry Bomb stands out as a big point of growth in his music carrier, with less controversial lyrics. And a lot more experimenting with other genres, which works as the albums advantage and disadvantage.
What clicked for me on this album was the variety that Tyler delivered, ranging from jazz and neo-soul to dark distorted tracks that resembles Death Grips music in various ways. These types of changes are challenging for Tylers fanbase, but if you're an open minded listener ... read more
Wolf is a very well crafted project that explores the mind of Tyler in the most Tyler way.
This album is an emotional rollercoaster that flows amazing from start to finish. Tyler expand his production with additional vintage drums and more instruments than his earlier work, and his rapping stands out as entertaining filled with personality. The albums concept doesn't need to be explained, just listen to the album and follow along. Some standout tracks include "IFHY", ... read more
Tylers first studio album Goblin follows a similar formula as Bastard, but doesn't expand on the ideas that were exploited on his mixtape.
I don't have much to say about this album as a whole, it was very long and filled with a lot of bloat, and the therapist concept wasn't executed that well. But i do got do give it points for expanding shock value and production on memorable songs like "Yonkers" and "Tron Cat". "She" and "Analog" also throws diversity ... read more
Bastard showcases a youthful Tyler that spits out a handful of shocking and edgy verses, but in between all of the chaotic teenage emotions, you can see the creative visionary artist that he'd later become in his carrier.
The album runs as a therapist session where Tyler talks about his emotions and ambitions. Songs like "Bastard", "Seven", "A**milk" and "Inglorious" showcases great lyrical performances with actual passion, and "VCR" has ... read more
Late Registration is a masterpiece that demonstrates the peak of Kanyes writing, featuring creative sample flips that are laced with beautiful orchestration to widen the soundscape compared to The College Dropout.
This album flows amazing from start to finish, with every song standing on their own, and kept together with skits that keeps the album very interesting. It's hard to name the highest moments on Late Registration (there are just too many), Kanye just really shined through hard ... read more
As much as people like to call this album "Overrated", My Beautiful Twisted Fantasy is undeniably one of, if not the most ambitious hip hop albums of all time.
Kanye West delivers his most perfected and mixed production in his carrier, and songs like "POWER", "Devil In A New Dress", "Runaway" and "All Of The Lights" are extremely high climatic which makes for great listens. Additional great lyrical performances from both Kanye and his features ... read more
"Vultures 1" showcases the good chemistry between Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign, vulgar and ear catching lyrics alike "Yeezus" make for fun moments, but ultimately this album lacks consistency from start to finish.
Compared with other Kanye produced albums, "Vultures 1" is more stripped down and raw but still very accessible. The chaotic jumps between the tracks resembles "The Life Of Pablo", but isn't kept together as well. "DO IT", ... read more
"Honestly, Nevermind" stands as Drakes lowest point of focus in his carrier.
One thing i looked forward to going into the album was the tracklist length (Drake being recently known for making long and bloated projects), but this still didn't help the project at all. Songs like "Texts Go Green", "Sticky" and "Jimmy Cooks" stands as the albums highest moments, but sadly there isn't much more in here that lives up to the same level. Several examples like ... read more
While this album sure has a chunk of filler, Drake still delivers this album with charisma and great quality instrumentals.
What really separates this album from his earlier work is the change of pace and style he went for on Views, and it worked for me. Addition of more energetic dancehall songs like Controlla and Feel No Ways made me appreciate Drake more as an artist, and more slowed down songs like Fire & Desire and Redemption showcased great diversity.
This album has aged like fine ... read more
